STRUCTURAL INSULATED PANELS

SCOPE OF WORK
GV Engineering LLC. (GV) has been working with local manufacturers of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) to build high energy-efficient commercial and residential buildings.  The prefabricated SIP units consist of two layers of Orient Strand Boards (OSB) with an Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) core between them.  This combination improves thermal insulation and soundproofing quality of the building exterior envelopes.  The use of such pre-measured, pre-cut panels significantly reduces installation time.   GV has been able to quickly adapt to the new construction materials and has become an expert in the SIP unit structural analysis and design. GV has also inspected the SIP component installation to verify that buildings were built to adequately meet the design criteria and construction document requirements.
